Starting A Greenhouse
Starting a greenhouse is a great idea, if you want to build your own greenhouse, here are the steps I took to build a greenhouse.
First you want to pick a location that is convenient, gets lots of sun with southern exposure, and is hopefully fairly level.
The spot I am using for my greenhouse was not level, so I built a frame around it with wood, and placed blocks where needed to level it.
Depending on the climate and the purpose of your greenhouse, you really could just start a greenhouse on the ground. I live in a climate the drops to -30 or more every winter, and since I am panning for this to provide fruit and vegetables year round, I took a few extra steps.
I started with laying out some plastic so no weeds would grow through the floor on my greenhouse. Framed with wood.

I will be heating my greenhouse from
my outdoor wood stove,
the stove circulates hot water through pipes underground, so I went to a local sawmill for a load of wood chips to lay on top of the plastic for added insulation.

Then I laid out a hundred feet of plastic pipe in coils to be connected to my heating system, which will heat the gravel I spread out for a floor base.

Once I had the base of my greenhouse complete and leveled, I framed it with treated wood.

Then I stained everything....

Covered everything with plastic...both inside and outside, the space between the plastic helps with insulating and retaining warmth.

And then for the inside...I am starting a greenhouse using a hydroponic system for vegetables and plants.
