How I Ended Up Living My Country Life

I live in a place called Southside, population not very much, very rural, its in the heart of British Columbia Canada.The climate includes all four seasons, the mountains, lakes, and rivers provide unbelievable scenery and the wildlife is abundant.

I'll be honest I am trying to live a life style that others would envy, I really don't think there is anything wrong with that.I like setting a schedule around what I like to do, being independent and basically doing what I want when ever I want to do it, but most importantly having a way to financially be secure enough that I sleep well and not have to worry about my future.They say everyone has a passion, I guess that means that mine must be life, I really do love just living this country life,from fishing, hunting, hiking, improving my home and my quality of life, to traveling to learn about and see other cultures.These are some of the important reasons I like to get up in the morning.

After graduating from high school, I spent 12 years commercial fishing off the west coast of Canada, and then 10 years in the forestry and logging industry, mostly running heavy equipment. I'm 43 and living alone with my dog Max.Two years ago I thought my life was right on track and things looked good, I was wrong. For the previous 10 years I had been living with a women and helping her raise her son, who at the time we met was one, I really thought things were good,we lived comfortably with lake front, lots of hunting, fishing, we traveled, and basically enjoyed life, I thought things wereok. But of course like so many other couples these days we drifted to far apart and our relationship ended. But thatwasn't all, the next year my stable year round good paying job also ended.

That was two years ago, so let me bring you up to date, after taking a good look at my situation, no job, no home, no family, I decided to try and fill the void, make it so that I wanted to get up in the morning, and starting over with a new 10 hr a day job, 5 days a week, just didn't seem like that was gonna cut it for me.

So this is what I did, I found a fixer upper ( it was rough ) on seven acres, very private, I got the owner to carry the mortgage for a year, so that I could move in right away and fix it up enough to get a decent appraisal. With some help from a friend, we got right at it. Six months later my appraisal came in at double my purchase agreement, so I took out a mortgage to pay out the previous owner and leave myself enough to cover living expenses for a year or so to start a home business, like I said I really enjoy my freedom so working from home seems like the only solution for me.

I'm about half way thru my year now, I love my place, and am enjoying my freedom, I am a little disappointed at my progress for my work from home project, I can't believe all the scams out there on the Internet on how to get rich, what a bunch of crap. I put quite a lot of time and a good chunk of cash into a bunch of different "education" is what I like to call it to justify my efforts, things weren't looking very good at all, then just as I was about to face reality and go look for another one of the dreaded jobs, I stumbled across SBI, I am not sure if they are the end all be all, but it just seems right, I have no computer back ground at all, but step by step I am creating a web site that I really enjoy, and at the same time I can see how it will contribute to the most important aspect of being able to live the lifestyle that I am, the money needed to sleep well at night and not have to worry about my future.
